Our hotel is located in the historical centre of
Berlin. By the order of the city commander of Berlin, at the end
of the 17th century no flammable goods like straw and hay were allowed
to be stored within the city walls. According to this order, building
sites for barns were established; the so called "Scheunenviertel"
(barn quarter) was founded. At this time also began the settling
of Jewish citizens which influenced every day life in Berlin very
much until their prosecution by the Nazis. The restaurated Synagoge
in the Oranienburger street is an impressive proof for this.
The special location between the Jüdische Synagoge and the
Friedrichstrasse offers our guests a special feeling between past
and present, history and pulsating life. In our direct circumference
